Deer Hunting in Indiana with the Chappell family!

Brandi Chappell gets her first deer in November 2018!
  • My first buck taken 11/25/18 at 10:00 AM. I’ve been hunting for five years and have never had a buck come within range until this day. I was just about to give up for the day and head home. I heard some leaves crinkling and was annoyed the squirrels were being so loud. I looked over and happened to see an 8 pointer heading down the hill. I picked my gun up and waited until he walked behind me onto a path. As soon as I had a good shot, I took my shot. He ran 20 yards a up a hill behind me. It made those five years in rain, wind, and snow worth the wait. It was even worth sitting in my tree stand opening morning 2018 when 30 minutes before dawn I hear leaves shuffling around. I was positive there were deer underneath me that I could not see. I realized the noise was getting a little too close for comfort. I turned around in my tree stand and had a raccoon looking at me straight in the eyes. I stood up and told him to go on, get outta here and he did. Thank goodness!
